Cyber increasingly describes our work and play. Today, some 2.4 billion people, or 34 percent of the world’s population, spend growing amounts of time online.

As more of our lives—shopping, socialising, voting and learning, for instance—get transferred online, we need to be more conscious about how we are leading and protecting our cyber and real lives. Some regard the security risks that follow the digital revolution as acceptable trade-offs, more cautious ones are left out in the cold. The digital revolution calls for us to stay open to opportunities, and remain alert for threats.

Closing oneself off to something good because of latent threats is impractical. All we need is to be resilient—and we need all the resilience we can have.

This Manifesto sets out a plan to reduce, as much as possible, the real and growing risks we face as individuals, businesses and governments, to make us cyber-resilient.
